About Halcyon Collection

Established in 2023, the family-run HALCYON Collection brings together a dedicated team united by a singular goal: to leverage our extensive expertise in guest management and our deep-rooted passion for hospitality.

Our logo is a visual narrative of the name “Halcyon.” In its etymological and semantic depth, the term evokes an idyllic, serene period—a touch of nostalgia rooted in the Greek myth of Alcyone and Ceyx. As told by Ovid in his Metamorphoses, the couple lived in perfect harmony until their hubris in comparing themselves to Zeus and Hera invited the wrath of Jupiter. Following the tragic shipwreck of her husband, Alcyone was transformed by the gods into a seabird, forever watching the horizon for his return. This legendary bird, nestled between sea and sky, captures the essence of nostalgic poetry that defines our spirit.

The design of our logo mirrors this legacy. The two lines, running parallel without intersecting, represent our two protagonists while echoing the graceful arches found in the internal architecture of our trulli. These lines subtly converge to form a shape reminiscent of a bird’s beak, bridging the mythological origin of the name with the physical space we offer our guests. The transversal cut running through the logo serves as a bridge between past and present, reflecting the evolution from historical dwellings to contemporary retreats.

Today, HALCYON represents the heart of our company. It embraces the full spectrum of the word’s meaning: an adjective synonymous with “joyful” and “serene,” and a noun that evokes a sweet, timeless nostalgia. The reverberation of this semantics lies in the very soul of our project—uniting the storied past of our homes with their luminous evolution in the present.
